El Me 262 A-2 "Sturmvogel" ("ave de tormenta") fue la versión definitiva de ataque al suelo del exitoso reactor diseñado por el equipo de ingenieros de "Willy" Messerschmitt. Si bien el concepto y los primeros trabajos comenzaron antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, las dificultades técnicas relacionadas con su planta motriz retrasaron su entrada en servicio hasta Julio de 1944. Apenas se completaron 1400 ejemplares hasta el final de la Guerra, aunque no más de 200 estuvieron operativos al mismo tiempo. Reclamaron unas 550 bajas aliadas perdiendo 100 ejemplares en el aire.

The Me 262 A-2 "Sturmvogel" ("stormbird") was the final ground attack version of the successful jet fighter designed by the engineering bureau of 'Willy' Messerschmitt. While the concept itself and the first works started before World War II, technical difficulties related to its engine delayed its entry into service with the Luftwaffe until July 1944. Only 1400 units were completed until the end of the war, although no more than 200 were operational simultaneously. They claimed 550 Allied kills losing about 100 Me 262s in the air.

El camarada Carlos ha escogido una agresiva Tankovy de emchas para participar en la Liga. El diseño es simple y brutal; sin artillería, lo apuesta todo en el combate cercano y el asalto, teniendo además la posibilidad de usar la infiltración. Las listas cargadas de AT pueden hacerle mucho daño, pero 16 disparos de Breakthrough Gun con Volley Fire no son para tomárselos a broma, y mientras el defensor intenta anularles de alguna manera, los otros 15 Sherman quedarán libres causando estragos. Además, hay que tener en cuenta que esta lista posee la regla "Always Attacks" en misiones con Prepared Positions, con lo que tiene muchas posibilidades rebasar a su oponente con su imponente superioridad numérica. Sin embargo, no llevar artillería significa que tu oponente puede compactar más sus Pelotones, disponiendo una defensa más cerrada, haciendo mucho más difíciles los asaltos.

Tovarich Carlos has chosen an aggressive emcha Tankovy Batalon to take part in our local League. The layout is simple and brutal; no room for artillery, everything in the list is committed to close combat and assault, including Spetsnaz's infiltration. AT-Plenty lists can pose a serious threat, but 16 Breakthrough Gun shots with Volley Fire cannot be taken lightly, and while the defenders have their hands full trying to destroy them somehow, the other 15 Sherman will roam free to wreak havoc. Be wary that this list has the 'Always Attacks' rule in scenarios with 'Prepared Positions', thus swarming any opponent with its strength in numbers. However, the lack of intimidating Artillery could lead the enemy to pack their Platoons together in a tighter defense, making the assaults much, much harder!

Nuestro camarada Panzerkanone ha escogido para participar en la Liga una Kompanie del 559. s.H.Pz.Jg.Abt. A primera vista parece una lista compleja de jugar, con tan sólo 3 Pelotones capaces de asaltar (de los cuales, uno es Trained), sin recon y con poca movilidad para lo que uno puede esperar de una lista acorazada. Probablemente los 2 Jagdpanther aporten menos que el clásico trío de Panther... ¡Pero hay que reconocer que son realmente preciosos!

Our comrade Panzerkanone has decided to field a Panzerjäger Kompanie from the veteran 559. s.H.Pz.Jg.Abt. At first glance it seems a quite challenging list to play, with only 3 Platoons able to conduct assaults (one of them Trained), with no recce assets and rather low mobility for what one could expect from an armoured list. The pair of Jagdpanther will likely be less valuable than the classic trio of Panthers... But we have to admit that they look really gorgeous!

Posiblemente el State of the art en cuanto a listas mecanizadas británicas, la Compañía de nuestro camarada Chendo es un hueso duro de roer tanto en ataque como en defensa. Con 2 Pelotones acorazados, humo, recon y excelente movilidad, es difícil encontrarle puntos débiles, si bien adolece de los mismos problemas que el resto de listas de infantería británicas: la dependencia total de los apoyos AT, en este caso de los pelotones de carros. También es destacable que sólo posee una fuente de humo/pineo, que de ser anulada pondría en aprietos a las puntas acorazadas.

Possibly the State of the art in terms of British mechanized lists, Chendo's Company is a tough nut to crack in both attack and defense. With two Armoured Platoons, smoke, recce and excellent mobility, it is not easy to find out any weaknesses. Nevertheless it suffers from the same problems that haunt British infantry: high degree of dependence on supporting AT Platoons (tanks in this case). Moreover, there is only a single source of smoke, easily deniable, thus putting armoured spearheads at risk.

Esta es la Compañía con la que jugaré en la primera edición de nuestra Liga Walküre local, una revisión de aquella con la que jugué la Campaña de Korsun, y que me dio excelentes resultados. Como no me apetecía seguir empleando otra vez la misma lista he hecho algunos cambios manteniendo el esqueleto básico. Para empezar, decidí incluir tropas únicamente de la División, con lo que los FlaK de la Luftwaffe y los Nebelwerfer tenían que salir. Para compensar la pérdida de AT, sustituí los morteros pesados por Hummel, que al ser vehículos blindados pueden bombardear estando suprimidos, y en caso de ser necesario, efectuar tiro directo sobre posiciones enemigas. Los puntos restantes los invertí en el Heavy Platoon, añadiendo una sección de MG-42. Esto me permite una flexibilidad mucho mayor, desde incluir de inicio los morteros en misiones con reservas para tener una plantilla de humo y pineo barato (liberando así a los Hummel), hasta potenciar al máximo las peanas de los Combat Platoons cuando tenga que atacar.

This is the Company I will play in the 1st edition of our local Walküre League. A little variation, though, from the list I played in the Korsun pocket Campaign, which performed remarkably well. As I did not want to field the same list again, I made some changes keeping the basic structure. To begin with, I decided to include only troops from the Division, thus the Luftwaffe FlaK and Nebelwerfer had to be removed. To compensate for the loss of AT, I replaced the heavy mortar Platoon by Hummels, that can make bombardments even suppressed, and if necessary, conduct direct fire on enemy positions. I invested the remaining points in the Heavy Platoon, adding a MG-42 section. This grants me greater flexibility, attaching mortars in missions with Reserves to have a cheap artillery template from the beginning (so freeing the Hummels) or bolstering the Combat Platoons when attacking.

Pochapyntsi es una aldea situada justo al sur de la Colina 239, rodeada de tierras de cultivo, y bosques. Tras el fallido ataque de los Fallschirmjäger sobre la colina, elementos de la División 'Feldherrnhalle' ocupan el pueblo de forma precaria, apantallando el flanco izquierdo para dar tiempo a sus camaradas de evacuar la bolsa al norte de su posición, atravesando la Colina. Los heridos tendrán que quedarse atrás. Mientras tanto, Konev ha retirado a los paracaidistas británicos del frente y los ha sustituido apresuradamente por tropas de la 41 División de Infantería de la Guardia. The 'close' Objective

Pochapyntsi is a village located just south of Hill 239, surrounded by farmland and forests. After the failed Fallschirmjäger attack on the Hill, elements of the 'Feldherrnhalle' Division thinly held the village, screening the left flank, gaining time for their comrades to evacuate the pocket north of their position, passing through the Hill. Lots of wounded will be hopelessly left behind. Meanwhile, Konev has withdrawn the British paratroopers from the front, hastily replacing them by troops from the 41st Guards Rifle Division. After knowing the Germans has begun evacuation, he gives the order to crush the pocket with all available troops.

Sd. Kfz. 250/5 & 250/9 ('neu')

El Sd. Kfz. 250 fue un semioruga ligero de usos generales construido por la firma DEMAG de Duisburg, muy similar al Sd. Kfz. 251, aunque de dimensiones más reducidas. Se construyeron 12 variantes, lo que da una idea de la variedad de cometidos que tuvo que desempeñar, desde observadores de artillería hasta vehículos portamortero. Las variantes que aparecen en las fotos son: la 250/5, vehículo de mando con equipos de radio adicionales y la 250/9, con la torreta normalizada para el cañón de 20mm, que equipaba a otros vehículos de reconocimiento de la Wehrmacht, como los Sd. Kfz. 222 o los Sd. Kfz. 234/1.

The Sd. Kfz. 250 was a multi-purpose light halftrack built by DEMAG firm from Duisburg, very similar in appearance to the larger Sd. Kfz. 251. Twelve variants were built, which gives an idea of ​​the wide array of tasks they had to perform, from artillery observation platforms to mortar carrier vehicles. The ones in the photos are the 250/5 command vehicle, with additional radio equipment, and a pair of 250/9, fitted with the normalized 20mm gun turret that equipped other reconnaissance vehicles of the Wehrmacht, like the Sd. Kfz. 222 or Sd. Kfz. 234/1.
